About Gulf Breeze Natural Gas

Gulf Breeze Natural Gas has been a service of the City of Gulf Breeze since 1964. This service is available to most homes and businesses located in the Gulf Breeze peninsula between the south end of the Pensacola bay bridge and Shannon Road, including Pensacola Beach. Our mission is to provide safe, clean, efficient, reliable energy to our customers at the lowest cost.  We serve 3,101 residential customers and 155 businesses. Gulf Breeze Natural Gas also maintains an excellent safety record. The utility continues to pass Florida Public Service Commission safety inspections without violations.

Super Energy Man is the official spokesman for Gulf Breeze Natural Gas. His job is to create public awareness of natural gas as America’s Super Energy. The actual man in the Super Energy suit is Harrold Hatcher, who has managed our marketing and safety programs for over 20 years.

Connecting to Natural Gas

We look forward to providing you the very best customer service. Just follow these easy steps to get connected:

  1. Phone Customer Service at 850-934-5108 to determine if a gas main exists on your street or if a main can be extended to your home.
  2. If a main extension can be made, your one-time costs will be:  a $50 utility deposit; a $25 non-refundable set-up/turn-on fee; and a $20 non-refundable charge for a required excess flow valve. If you are going to install only low-usage appliances (e.g., fireplace, grill, generator), there will also be a $300 non-refundable service fee.
  3. Have your plumber take out the necessary permits to install your interior piping, venting, and appliances.
  4. When the piping and appliances have been installed, the installation MUST be inspected by Santa Rosa County Inspections and a final inspection sticker must be put in place.
  5. Your plumber must then request that Santa Rosa County notify Gulf Breeze Natural Gas that a final inspection has been done.
  6. We recommend that you call us at 850-934-5108 to verify if we have received notification of the final inspection; at the same time you can make an appointment to have your gas turned on (and your appliances lighted if needed). An adult must be at home to have the gas service turned on. If no one is home for the appointment, there will be a $25 charge for each subsequent service trip.

Billing Information

Billing begins as soon as your meter has been installed and the City finance office has received the necessary paperwork. The base charge is $7.00 per month for customers living within the City of Gulf Breeze, $9.00 per month for outside the City, or $10.00 per month for customers with low gas usage.
